Napier - Patatfestival 2010
This year, the Napier Patat Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
The festival will be kicking off on Friday night 18 June, with a live performance and dance by brothers Christo & Kobus.
Then Saturday morning, 19 June, sees the exciting half marathon, fun run and mountain bike race take place at the Napier High School school.
Stalls are available at the school as in the past. One of the many exciting changes this year is that the beer hall will be in the pavilion above the athletics track, keeping the crowd more concentrated round the stalletjies. The Miss Napier competition and Mej Patatrantjie will also be held on the Saturday morning this year (in the middle of the athletics field, weather depending), as opposed to the Friday night, ensuring that maximum attention at the school.
After prize giving in the afternoon, festivities continue at the school, however the rest of the village comes alive for the remainder of the weekend, with open gardens, vintage cars, wine and beer tastings and much more.
So, be sure to book your stall at the Patat Fees as soon as possible, not to be disappointed! Please note, all enquiries will be handled by the Cape Agulhas Tourism bureau this year, and not Napier High School as in the past.
